Shari VanderWoude

Shari is proud to own a studio with a staff that is committed, caring, and talented. She has been professionally involved in the dance industry for over twenty six years and was the president of the Alberta Dance Educators Association for six years.

Shari performed with the Alta Dance Company, Kompany, and was a dancer with the touring Boby Curtola Show. She recently expanded her career into acting and has appeared in several docudramas, T.V. commercials, industrials, films, and movies .

Shari’s belief in healthy competition and recognition for every dancer’s ability in a positive environment was a driving force behind the formation of Dance Power. Most recently, she founded Stars of Hope. The annual event has raised over $50,000 for cancer charities and brought together 24 studios and over 700 dancers for an evening of entertainment and community awareness.

Shari’s love is with the children and the studio. She believes in teaching them to be the best they can be at any given moment, to recognize their strengths, challenge themselves, and have fun!
