Talya Macedo
Talya is a passionate teacher who is excited to inspire and connect with her students over her love of dance.
Talya has been an established and dynamic performer for over a decade. She started her dance training at the age of 10, learning the classical Indian dance form of “Bharatanatyam”.
At the age of 15, she started her hip hop training where she excelled and performed competitively, giving her the passion to make dance more than just a hobby. Talya was a member of the all female “Fly Girlz” dance crew.
In 2008, Talya moved to Melbourne, Vic, Australia to teach in a privately owned studio. There, she was given the opportunity to share her vision and diverse choreography, combining new school, street, diva and reggae styles that challenged her student’s musicality. She taught all over Melbourne, and teamed up with respected local dancer Anne F. to audition and produce a back up dance team for local RnB artist Tessa. She also furthered her training in street latin styles such as Salsa (L.A and Cuban), Merengue and Cha-cha and was inspired to fuse these styles in with her choreography.
Talya lives her life daily with the motto, “you never stop learning” and takes every class she can. She is excited to share her passion of dance with the students at Dance Theme.
