Julia began her dance training at Dance Theme Academy at the age of three up until graduation. She has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop, and completed her Grade 8 and Advanced 2 RAD ballet exams. Since then, she has decided to further her dance training and artistry at Ryerson University’s School of Performance in Toronto, majoring in dance.

In addition to working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she has trained at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, Toronto Dance Theatre, Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre, Steps on Broadway, and Harbor Dance Center. She has also had the honor to represent Canada in the International Dance Organization (IDO) World Dance Championships in Germany, where her team won two gold and silver medals in ballet, jazz, pointe, and modern. Julia has also had the opportunity to perform numerous works through Ryerson University, including her own choreography, as well repertory at Alvin Ailey’s, Toronto Dance Theatre’s, and Kenny Pearl’s intensives.  She is also currently working with Catalyst Theatre in Edmonton on an upcoming performance.

Julia was honored this last year by winning the Pamela Hackett Award of Excellence in Dance from Ryerson University. She is happy to be back in her home town this year to teach young dancers and share her passion of dance with her students.
