Full Year Programs

At Dance Theme, we strive to provide programming to meet every student’s needs. From the once a week student to those wanting to focus on dance as their main activity and compete at a high level; there is a program for all dancers. With Dance Theme’s blend of incredible training in a fun and positive environment, dancers are encouraged to achieve their goals.

The programs are structured so that every student is challenged at the appropriate level to meet their needs.

Jazz is a popular dance form as it is an energetic, technical and fun dance format. Classes include warm-up, stretching, combinations across the floor and fun, fast and technical choreography!  Jazz dance can be seen everywhere from dance music videos to hit Broadway Shows.

“Making music with your feet.” This form of dance is becoming increasingly popular as more and more students learn how much fun it is to make rhythms with their feet. At Dance Theme, we offer quality training in the Al Gilbert Syllabus as well as open classes.

Ballet is the fundamental dance form. It develops grace, coordination and correct posture. The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.), is offered at Dance Theme. It is internationally recognized and sets a standard for developing technical and artistic proficiency.

Lyrical is a powerful dance form that is a combination of jazz and ballet techniques. As well as teaching technique, lyrical develops a student’s emotional interpretation of dance. Routines are choreographed to ballads. Previous ballet and/or jazz training is a pre-requisite.

Contemporary dance is a genre that developed during the mid twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world. Due to its technical similarities, it is often perceived to be closely related to modern dance, ballet and other classical dance styles.

DTA Musical Theatre Company

The new DTA Musical Theatre Company combines songs, acting, and dance. The program teaches jazz dance choreography, vocal and acting instruction in a fun and creative environment!

Acro (Acrobatics)

Dance Theme’s Acro instructors have been certified in the Acrobatic Arts Training and Certification which is an extensive, hands-on training program. Our classes are taught following the well-structured curriculum which allows students to progress in their Acro training with balanced development and confidence. Students will learn an Acro routine for the year-end show.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop dance is a style primarily danced to hip hop music. It includes a wide range of styles including breaking, locking and popping. What separates Hip Hop from other styles is that it is often freestyle in nature. Hip Hop is seen on many music videos.

Mini Stars

We take great pride in our incredible Mini Stars Program, which is designed to instill the love of dance in children by teaching them in a fun and positive environment. It is important that our preschool students are taught by mature and qualified teachers. Classes are divided by age as well as experience allowing a preschool student to grow and develop their skills. Students perform in Dance Theme’s Winter Magic Show as well as the year-end recital.
