Who We Are
For over 40 years, thousands of students have flourished and delighted in dance classes at Dance Theme Academy in northeast Edmonton. We provide personal and professional dance instruction in tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical, acro, and musical theatre. Positive motivation combined with teaching styles that are nurturing and supportive are the hallmarks of Dance Theme.

At Dance Theme, we strive to provide programming to meet every student’s needs. From the student who wants to learn the art of dance once a week, to those wanting an intense focus on dance competing at a high level, we offer a program for all dancers. With Dance Theme’s blend of incredible training in a fun and positive environment, dancers are encouraged to reach their personal goals.
The programs are structured so that every student is challenged at the appropriate level to meet their needs and desires.
These programs have no performing obligations and are a great way to introduce your child to dance without the commitment of purchasing special class wear and costumes. The programs are taught by knowledgeable instructors and provide a great learning experience in a fun environment! The last class of the program is a viewing class where parents are invited to watch what the students have learned.
Three sessions throughout the season: Fall, Winter, Spring
The Academy Program is designed for the dance student who wants the best in dance training and performing opportunities, with only one or two classes per week. The class will participate in the year-end recital and possibly one or two festivals, depending on the age and level.
This program is for the student who wants more intensive weekly training and performing opportunities. The class will participate in the year-end recital and two or three festivals/competitions.
Students in Competitive Jazz class are required to take a minimum of one ballet class in the current season. They must be enrolled in both jazz and ballet to be in a Competitive Lyrical/Contemporary class.
The Company Program is the highest level of competitive programming that Dance Theme offers. Dance Theme’s competitive teams are divided into four levels: Junior 1, Junior 2, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Dancers are required to be in the full R.A.D. Ballet Program and be enrolled in stretch, technique, and choreography classes. Company Program dancers compete in three to five competitions per year, based on age and level, including a Calgary competition on the May long weekend. Please contact the studio for more details.

Our studio is located in northeast Edmonton just north of the Yellowhead Trail on Hermitage Road between 50th Street and Victoria Trail.
